If you qualify for FREE eye tests the NHS contributes to the cost of your examination.
Yes, if you meet the following conditions:
- are under 16
- are 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education (this includes being taught full-time at a school, college, university or at home)
- are a prisoner on leave from prison
- are eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher – an optician can advise you about your entitlement
- You’re also entitled if you or your partner – including civil partner – receive, or you’re under the age of 20 and the dependant of someone receiving:
- Income Support
- Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Universal Credit and meet the criteria
- If you’re entitled to or named on:
- Child Tax Credits,
- Working Tax Credits
- HC2 or HC3 NHS certificate (people who are over 18 and in full time education could be eligible).
A domiciliary eye test is a full, comprehensive eye examination carried out in the comfort of your own home. It’s very similar to the test you’d have in an optician’s practice, but we bring all the specialist equipment to you.
During the visit, our optometrist will:
- Ask about your eye health and general wellbeing – including any symptoms, medical history, or vision concerns.
- Check your vision to see if you need new glasses or an update to your prescription.
- Examine the health of your eyes to look for conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration.
- Discuss the results with you and answer any questions you have.
- Provide advice or recommendations, including glasses, specialist lenses, or onward referrals if needed
We will bring a wide selection off frames for you to choose from and they take 3 weeks to ready.
Our trained staff will then come out to fit them
